Aroostook Law have trained and experienced mediators who can be a solution in a difficult case. Mediation is a process designed to help people resolve their differences with the help of an impartial mediator who assists the parties in identifying issues and problems, exploring and evaluating options and potential solutions, and crafting a settlement agreement that everyone can accept.
Participation in the mediation process is voluntary for all participants. It is focused on forward-looking solutions rather than assigning fault for past actions. And it is self-determinative, meaning that all parties must agree to a settlement. Some settlements can resolve all issues in a dispute; others may resolve only some of the issues, leaving the remaining issues resolved through arbitration or litigation.
Mediation can save time and money.
